Tea Concentrate
How are coffee tea concentrate like he used to?

I remember in the years 1950 and 1960 according to which if you ask to tea in the cafeteria to throw some tea concentrate in a large kettle into his glass of water one or two glass and fill with hot water and it tasted amazing as the real pot of English tea taste. I've been craving that lately and wondered if anyone knows anything about this ancient and lost art?

Not sure, but my guess is they probably did some concentrated tea reduction. Perhaps boiling Quantity plenty of water with a good concentration tea leaves and let it reduce to half volume or a little less. Probably the sugar added during reduction as well. This is a good way to make a concentrate anyway, if not what are looking for, worth taking a chance and see if it works the same. PS: After you answer, I found the following which sounds interesting too fast boiling 1 1 / 2 quarts cold water. Remove water from heat and immediately add 1 / 4 pound of loose tea. Stir to submerge leaves. Cover. Let stand for 5 minutes. Strain into a glass of water until ready for use. Pour two tablespoons of concentrated tea into a cup and fill with water hot hot tea solution. Pour 3 tablespoons of tea for iced tea concentrate to allow the melting ice. Double the recipe for a wider audience. I hope that helps
