Great high protein snack

If you're reading this probably know the benefits of consuming adequate protein in your diet. But just in case, protein is essential to keep your immune system strong, protecting it against bacteria, viruses or other harmful foreign invaders. Protein also helps to strengthen muscles, bones and joints (actually they are made). While depending on different factors such as exercise routine, diet and other factors, an average person should consume between 2 to 2.5 grams of protein per kilo of body weight per day. So if you weigh 160 pounds. you should consume between 64-80 grams per day (consult a nutritionist, doctor or other qualified professional to suit your particular needs before starting any diet). Many weight lifters diet and opt for a high protein diet. Now, as a diet with many foods, some protein-rich foods are disgusting. So here is a short list of great high protein snack for a change.

The first, and my personal favorite is beef jerky. One ounce of dried meat is about 11 grams of protein, but watch out for high salt content found in many brands, just look for lower-salt brands. Protein bars. Not all are created equal but there are many different brands available that are great tasting low-fat, carbohydrate, and vary on average between 10-40 grams of protein per bar. Protein shakes. Yes, a lot of bad taste, but try the fruit flavored shakes for best flavor. I prefer to avoid the strawberry and chocolate. You'll get about 18 grams of protein per serving. Mix up, so, as the flavor can taste old quickly. Anything with peanut butter. Spread it on bread, cookies, celery, whatever. Peanut butter is high in calories and fat, so if you're on a diet to follow for salted or unsalted peanuts. In fact, any nut is good too, or sunflower seeds. There are many high protein grains available, you can be eaten dry as a snack. great taste chicken sandwiches, as well salmon and beef (yes, all are technically food, but can be cooked and cut into smaller portions). I do not like cottage cheese, but too much People seem to love. Yogurt has protein as well. Then wash it all with a glass of milk.

So there it is. A lot of great flavor and high protein snacks. You can not love your taste, but it sure is better than eggs, sardines and tofu. This is just a short list, there are many more food great tasting high protein. Just remember to check labels for fat, sodium, calories, and other major new outlets, please consult a dietitian or a doctor to see how much protein you should eat.
